BIRTH:
Abaddon was born on the planet Earth during an age of technological splendor and rapid advancement for a people who were exceedingly ignorant of the massive and uncharted galaxy they were within. The year was 2118 when a baby boy was born to Catelyn and Atticus Vane in a mansion owned by the young man's father, a man named Alec, who'd been a military strategist. His mother was a beautiful woman ripe with many appealing attributes, though her kind heart was likely the most prominent. She'd been of moderate wealth and a military brat, which had actually played a role in her meeting Atticus. His father had been an intelligent, tall and talented young man who'd been introduced to his would be wife by Carelyn's father, who had always been a close friend of the Vane family. He'd grown to become a well respected young soldier at a young age and after just a few years had played an important military role as a space fleet naval officer tasked with the exploration of Mars.
In the early morning hours of November the 7th, 2118 the cries of an 9.2 pound child filled the halls of the very mansion that Atticus himself had grown up in, a home having been shared by nearly ten generations of Vane family members. That day another generation began, and it should have been a bright and joyous day, but for the father's stern reaction to his rather large and uncharacteristically docile who'd stopped crying only a few minutes after being brought into the world. He knew there was something different about his first born son, and that something was an unnerving and worrisome thing. He had, however, chosen to give to his wife the support she would need and share in her happiness for their newborn son if only to help her to feel safe and show her that she should be proud for bringing his son into their lives. Atticus was cautious of the child, however, believing that a calm newborn was a bad omen, and when he'd seen his son's golden gaze he knew that he was destined for great, but very terrible things.
He reserved the right to name his son, and with said right he gave him a fitting name. The name of "Abaddon" had been given as first, the name of the fallen angel and "The Destroyer". Next had been given the name "Warwick", which had been menacing sounding in nature despite it's gentle root meaning. Thirdly Atticus did decide to pass along his name to the boy, though even then he was hesitant to offer the name "Vane" to someone so very capable of insighting fear and uncertainty.
EARLY YEARS:
Abaddon was a typical boy growing up with few frustrations or hardships in early life. He'd grown up having a wonderful relationship with his father and mother as well as the brother and two sisters that they had offered him after bringing him into the world as the eldest son. After him had come Kyla, then Jayce and lastly Kirret, though everyone opted to call her "Kit" instead, and he had loved them each and every one, knowing no love for any other the way he loved his sisters and brother, all of which had a habit of looking up to Abaddon. That, however, wasn't entirely something that Atticus had been happy with, having chosen to raise his children in a way that could possibly allow them to benefit from a good example and become upstanding citizens. In the effort of raising his kids the right way, however, Atticus would always have his hands dirtied while trying to keep Abaddon out of trouble and the others from taking after him.
So, by the time that Abaddon had finished his schooling and was ready to move on to college in order to become an Engineer, his father trumped his son's aspirations and suggested that Abaddon take the offer for an expedition that was being planned for Mars. A place very much in need of colonization if their growing race was going to be able to maintain it's growth and influence as it began to take it's first steps spreading out into the galaxy. So, rather liking the appeal of becoming a legend among the human race for being one of the first to help set up upon it and build a strongholds on dry, red crust. This would have been the perfect opportunity to send Abaddon away for long enough that his brother and both of his sisters could begin to forget about him. In fact, this was all a part of his father's well constructed plan to separate Abaddon from his family for a reasonable stent of time.
All he wanted was for the other three kinds to grow up and understand the world for themselves without Abaddon sighting his own opinions and potentially ruining them before they were of age. Abaddon was ignorant, however, actually believing for a moment that his father was giving him the opportunity to make him proud. So, he accepted the challenge in a heartbeat, deciding then, even at the age of almost thirty, he was more than prepared to take on anyone or anything. Especially a challenging scenario issued by his own father, though he hadn't expected that the training for such an endeavor would turn out to be such a tedious and tiresome thing.
Once he and his crew of nearly fifty were prepared, they set out towards Mars, intent on setting up a small colony in order to begin mapping out the areas, attempting to cultivate farmable land and doing as much research of the natural area as they possibly could so that the could continue to learn. When they stumbled across a "Prothean data cache on Mars in 2148, they branched further out into space and found the Charon Relay orbiting Pluto." This opened their eyes to the many wonders and mysteries of the galaxy, and so, a portion of their initial expedition, just ten in all, piloted a ship into deep space, responding to the suggestion of a communicating race who had claimed to be peaceful. They had even offered to peacefully receive Abaddon and his group if they brought as much of the information recovered in the data cash with them as they could.
A deal was struck, a ship had it's course set, and a crew of ten raced off into the skies above Marz heading for the deep, blank space in between them and their newest discovery. An actual alien race, which would become marked as the greatest discovery that mankind had ever been a party to. The only problem was that the trip was due to take a little more than a year, if all things went according to plan, and so each of the members retreated to cryogenic pods that doubled as escape vessels in the case of an emergency during deep space travel. It was that day, as each of them climbed into their pods and took their final breaths for a while, that his previous life would end, and a new life would begin. That day, as they slipped away into a long, cold state of hibernation, their course was altered by a storm, their ship was sent through an asteroid field and they were utterly obliterated.
Escape pods raced through the dark expanse of uncharted space after the ship had been undone by the relentless battering of asteroids. It had exploded, though moments before it had gone up in a brilliant display of bright, blinding light, the pods were scattered to the windless, looming blackness of the universe, and each one of them were destroyed by either debris or other asteroids still raining down upon them and their annihilated remnants of a mission of glorious intent gone bad. All had been sent through the void to meet up in the afterlife once more and start anew.
