Physical Description
Kami is a 'hopper' class Geth mobile platform that has been modified to fill it's role as a reconnaissance unit. It is able to stand upright and possesses similar emoting features to Legion. Kami houses 1,253 simultaneous run-times. The platform is slightly bulkier than most hoppers as a result. The extra run-times over the Legion platform were intended to give Kami an edge when hacking in addition to it's combat drone. Rather than a standard VI, Kami's drone serves as a temporary platform for roughly 100 run-times. This does not serve much in terms of combat strength or tactical prowess on the drone's part but does provide Kami with increased battlefield awareness both while the drone is active and after those run-times return to the platform and their experience is shared. In effect, the drone serves as a literal second set of sensors. The downside being that those sensors are strapped to a rather dim drone.
Pre RP History:
Mobile platform 'Kami' finished fabrication and became home to us 3.4 standard solar cycles after our recon platform returned. The run-times housed within it had much to share. We learned it had been named Legion, that there were organics that were willing to cooperate with us, we learned the human word for the pursuit of the statistically unlikely: hope. Our new records also informed us of the many dangers outside the Veil and of the many run-times that had been lost in following the ancient ones. What history and data we managed to collect on the effect organics termed 'indoctrination' was clear. There was no current solution to preventing further loss of our independence. If 'Sheppard Commander' was to be believed, the old ones would return in great numbers and there would be no way to preserve ourselves. After furious debate, several thousand iterations on solution parameters, and the passage of a standard galactic three minutes, we came to a consensus. Further data was required. The mobile platform now known as Legion would remain with the collective for the purpose of preservation while new units would be produced to continue it's work.
Kami was designed around the now mostly unused 'Hopper' template. The design had been discontinued after poor combat performance had been observed when the heretics had joined with the Turian named Saren to attack the Citadel. With a renewed focus on stealth and reconnaissance, a revised version of the platform was paired with an advanced omni-tool and launched in a scout stealth vessel. The platform later to be designated 'Kami' is intended to be a mobile platform that thinks it's way through combat situations through creative use of omni-tool functions and it's heightened agility. As such, it possesses only a Pistol and SMG that it salvaged and most of it's engineering abilities possess both tactical and practical uses.
Possessions:
Scouting Shuttle:
Having processed specifications and designs of the Normandy SR-2 from Legion's data banks, we designed a ship about the size of a Kodiak drop shuttle that housed little more than engines, navigation, a mass effect core, and a sheltered compartment only just large enough for the mobile platform. The ship possessed no offensive weaponry, instead relying on ECM and ECCM to baffle hostile ships as it made an escape. We also incorporated several of the tactics used by the ship AI EDI, though with considerably less effectiveness when it comes to electronic warfare. Kami is able to utilize the bandwidth of the ship's communications equipment to overwhelm the systems of smaller military and most commercial vessels in order to flee.
Weapons:
M-3 Predator 1 (High Caliber Barrel, Heat Sink)
M-9 Tempest 4 (Recoil Dampner, Heat Sink)
Grenade 1
6/6 (6 Geth Hopper, 0 Engineer, 0 Recruit)
4/4 Upgrades (2 Engineer, 2 Recruit)
Armor:
Light (Geth Hopper)
0/0 upgrades (0 engineer, 0 recruit)
Tech Powers:
Combat Drone
Electronics
Overload
Shield Boost
AI Hacking
5/5 (2 Geth, 2 Engineer, 1 Recruit)
