Geth Space, the last place Leto wanted to go, but their ship was starting to run low on it's Iridium supply and one of Ammut's moons seemed to have an abundance of it. The young engineer prepared himself with his sniper rifle, pistol, and armor. He had gone through the basic training for combat, and was only a light combatant, mostly playing a support role on the field. His knowledge of hacking, AI hacking, first aid, and defensive drones would surely come in handy during a Geth Space mission. Ryori had specifically assigned Kael Varner to guard Leto after their run in with the geth during a rescue operation a day or two prior. They would be heading via shuttle to one of Ammut's moons to gather a significant supply of Iridium, in order to resupply themselves before returning to Earth. Leto checked, and rechecked the plan in order to figure out their best bet. Utilizing the ships computers, he brought up schematics of the geth outpost on the closest moon to Ammut. Eyes roving the schematics, he would figure out the best place for them to land, furthest distance from the outpost with as little notice given to the Geth before their arrival. Hopefully they could get in and out without needing too much assistance from Ryori and the rest of the crew.
They needed about seventeen kilos of Iridium in order to resupply the Drive Core, and Leto found the mining outpost by the geth their likeliest bet at getting it. Infiltrating it would be hard, getting out even harder, but they didn't really have much of a choice if they wanted to make it back to earth. Once he finished preparing himself, he made his way to the shuttle bay where he'd meet up with Kael Varner, his guard on this mission. He didn't really expect Kael to be good at infiltrating places, but guarding him with his life, yes, that much Leto knew Kael would probably do. Given their were fellow comrades-in-arms, Leto would give them their best chance at infiltration by cutting off the Geth from the hive mind in case any other geth ships were lurking around. And he had a few ideas of his own on how to do that. Granted, most of his abilities lied in Drive Core and Mass Effect fields, he thought he found a way to utilize a minor generated mass effect field in order to cut the geth off. Prepping the shuttle to be able to produce it was quite easy for him, and once that was done, he would patiently wait for Kael to arrive.
Once Kael did arrive, Leto would look up at him, and ask, "Are you ready for some Iridium hunting? I've come up with a way, I believe to cut the Geth off from their hive mind briefly, enough to hopefully get us in and out without them being able to send a million more troops to our position. It's a long shot, but I believe Mass Effect fields can have a significant effect at jamming their radars, and stopping their communications to other Geth through the hive mind. Once we get close enough to the outpost, I'll use the shuttle's Mass Effect field emitter that I designed of the past few weeks in order to produce a mass effect field large enough to surround the mining outpost. That should, in theory, cut off their ability to locate us. It will only last about an hour though before the battery will need to be recharged. So we have basically an hour to get in, get about fifteen to seventeen kilos of Iridium, and get out of there. I've got a few canisters over there to carry the iridium out in..." He then pointed towards the canisters sitting next to the passenger seat of the shuttle. "If the field testing of this Mass Effect Field Generator goes well, then I'm going to talk to the captain about possibly seeing if it can be used on a wider bandwidth and arm the ship with one in order to disable Geth vehicles for brief periods of time allowing us to get out of their territory if needed..."
Thoughtfully, he looked at Kael, and then asked, "You understand the basic gist of what I just said? Not trying to insult, but I'm not sure how well versed you are in ME fields, and their generators. That was my thesis in college, on Drive Cores, and Mass Effect Fields. Basically, we generate the field, it knocks out the Geth sensors, and hive mind for about an hour." He then smiled, and looked towards the Mass Effect Field Generator he had built over the past few weeks. Turning back towards Kael, he then said, "I'm glad to be working with you, I know we're both new to this type of thing, but I'm sure if we work together we can accomplish our mission's goals and parameters." He then awaited to see if Kael would say anything before their departure. Leto knew how to fly a shuttle, so he could pilot the craft if necessary if Kael didn't have that much experience at it...
