Kael Varner, Urdnot Krag
Immediate Location: The Ratchet
Location: Horse Head Nebula on an approach for Shadow's Peak Trade Station
Date: 2186.5.29
Onboard the Ratchet the few crew members that manned the ship could see Noxu wandering the newly rebuilt halls. He'd spent the last few hours with his ship back under his command wandering the halls and checking each and every one of the halls, the rooms, the hidden air ducts, everything he could remember. Before the ship was rebuilt, it looked much like an older freighter; there were old scratches along the halls, bits and pieces were old and worn out, lights would even flicker in select parts of the ship. It was his ship. He liked it how it was. Not a word was spoken from him during his search of the ship as he inspected each and every element he could. It looked... new. It was remodeled.
He didn't like it.
While the inside still looked relatively familiar to his older, unfixed ship, it still didn't feel right to him. He couldn't see the old scratch marks or the old blaster holes in the walls where he'd accidentally misfired a weapon while putting it together. It all seemed so different to him. It's just cleaned. It had a few upgrades. Hell, it'll get worn down again, he reassured himself. While true, it felt like a part of him was missing. It's faster, stronger, and more fortified. You might be able to last in a fight against Cerberus now, he continued to attempt to reassure himself and force himself to even like the new interior of the ship. Thankfully, every room remained in the same place so it wasn't as if he was trying to find his way around his ship.
Walking along the halls, he kept his right hand along the right side of the wall feeling the smoothness of the new metals that ran against his palm. It was definitely a strange feeling. "Well, damn," he muttered quietly to himself. "Looks like everythin's all in tip top condition!" he said with unusual enthusiasm. With a quick shake of his head, he meandered over toward the guest quarters where Kael Varner would inevitably be found. The man was unusual to him. Always strict to follow orders; especially those given by Ryori. It was no surprise that she had him go with to complete the trade. Of the hours that Noxu had wandered the ship, he didn't see Kael once; granted, that could have been because he was far, far more focused on his ship than any of his crew members.
Walking into the room as if he owned the place -- which he did -- he greeted Kael with a nod. "Kael, we're approachin' Shadow's Peak. We'll be landin' in no-time. Get your shit together, 'cause we're going to do this drop quick. Get the cash and get back to Ryori," he gave his own version of a command. "Make sure the element zero doesn't get damaged durin' the shipment. We can't fuck this up." Element Zero wasn't exactly the best type of compound to be smuggling throughout the galaxy as it was a hot commodity for just about everyone, but Biotics especially wanted it. "You know how it goes. Excess amounts of Element Zero can cause a problem for everyone. So, yeah. Make the hell sure it's secured and the lock mechanisms are on there," he continued to repeat himself.
"We have 'bout thirty minutes before we land. Get ready."
