The Citadel
Presidium
Being a Krogan on the Citadel always drew glances, but being Krag on the Citadel drew stares. His misshapen and discolored shell, coupled with his red skin, gave him an appearance unlike what most have seen. He even heard a frightened human boy call him "devil" in passing, though he wasn't exactly sure what that word meant.
He was pretty sure it was a type of human egg. He had once seen a human order a "devil egg" before. It didn't look too terrifying to him, but these humans never instilled bravery into their young. That's why they were weak, just like Salarians, Asari; the ones who had helped the Turian's turn the Krogan Empire and its people into little more than squabbling city-states and clans.
As if that weren't enough, the Citadel races then had audacity to taunt them with a statue in their blasted presidium; all the while keeping the Krogan people on leashes like animals. We are not animals to be trampled on Krag thought to himself, eyes narrowed upon the disgrace of a memorial jutting from the Presidium lake.
Soon you will all be reminded of that, reminded of what its like to have a boot at your throat and a gun to your head.
Thus what brought him here. He wasn't visiting the Presidium to gawk at trees and women like every other Krogan seemed to do, he was here on business. Wrex had gone too far, the Krogan were on the verge of true unification and he still held convictions breed from his feelings for Commander Shepard. Allying with the Citadel Races, working towards peace with the very ones who had cast them down. It was dishonorable and idiotic above all else. You couldn't trust the Turians and Asari, let alone those Salarian bastards.
They all deserved to burn and in order for that to happen, Wrex had to be taken care of. Krag didn't liked having to do it, but the Citadel was a place where you could fine top-end weapons. He could purchase them in bulk through middlemen to avoid suspicion and then have them shipped to planets lining the DMZ for pick-up later. When the time to restore the Empire was at hand, Krag could rally and arm his followers to usurp the Urdnot leadership.
It would take time, but Krag knew that the minds of the Krogan people were still able to be molded. He could gain the support he needed to kill Wrex and to do it he would start small. First he would start small, however. While his middlemen duct rats were purchasing his arms, he would go speak with the Bloodpack leadership. They had dissolved into a small factions vying for power after their founder had been killed by Commander Shepard on Tuchanka, all them wanting the mantle of chief for themselves. Urdnot may have assimilated the clan itself, but the Bloodpack were still strong in number and that meant they were exploitable.
Leaning against the railing of the Presidium lake, Krag waited for the contact he had arranged for. With the Bloodpack being illegal on the Citadel, their members tended not to advertise their affiliation openly here. That meant he needed somebody in the know.
